PaulPaul has been working with the Learning Disability Team since October 2014. Before this, Paul had done 25 years of voluntary work within the community. His goal was to get paid work as a Hospital Porter. Alongside his Employment Consultant Holly, Paul completed a vocational profile, to identify his Skills. Holly arranged for Paul to volunteer as a Trolley Buddy at Kingston Hospital and supported him in this role. Paul was then head hunted by the team leader of the Patient Transport Team, who asked him to join them as a Porter on a temporary contract. Paul thrived in this role and impressed them so much, that they have since offered him a full time contract. Paul now works 40 hours a week and is loving his role. His Employment Consultant Holly continues to keep in touch with Paul and his Line Manager to provide support when needed.
